How We Help
“Together we can make a difference. Together we can Make Change.”
The Ladybug Foundation has four fundamental rules that organizations must meet in order to receive monies:
24 Hour rule:
support is given to groups that touch a street person’s life in the next 24 hours
Shelter rule:
support is given to places where people live or take shelter
Hunger rule:
support is given to places that homeless people eat at today, or provide food for such places
Charity status rule:
support is given to registered charitable organizations
Hannah’s “Rule”:
“I love them like family, they need that most of all” - Hannah
The Ladybug Foundation Inc. is a non-profit corporation qualified by Canada Revenue Agency under the Income Tax Act for tax-exempt status as a registered charity effective May 20, 2004 (charitable business number 86213 8278 RR0001). The Foundation is designated as a “public foundation”, supporting Hannah’s efforts to spread awareness and raise funds to assist operating charitable organizations which provide food, shelter, and other needs of the homeless and near homeless in Canada.
Since May 2004, Hannah has spoken to many thousands of people across Canada and in other parts of the world about homelessness and hunger, addressing more than 200 schools, businesses, organizations, associations, churches, union organizations, government organizations, groups, meetings and events. She has reached out through the media of television, radio and newpaper. Hannah and The Ladybug Foundation have raised (directly through the Foundation and indirectly for homeless projects in Canada) well in excess of $2 million. This generous support has come from people across the country and from corporate donors, unions, business organizations, industry and other associations, schools, school children, entertainment events, and fundraising events and initiatives.
